New York: America's Rudest City

Not in my experience, but whatever.

New York has been named America's rudest city in a survey by Time + Leisure magazine. The magazine has published its 2011 survey of favourite American cities with categories ranging from nightlife and bars to culture, shopping and people. But the article said The Big Apple was also America's most diverse city, which could explain some of the unfriendliness. "New Yorkers' mannerisms are unfamiliar to many and people don't mean to be nasty," it said. Miami is the second rudest city in the US, according to the magazine, but to make up for its impolite inhabitants, it can offer partygoers America's fourth best bar scene and a great New Year's Eve bash.
